Tonight on MeTV- our favorite man in the hat is letting us, the Sven Squad – Gwengoolie, Nostalgiaferatoo and IMP aka Ignatius Malvolio Prankenstein - take over hosting duties for the evening. Sven will be here, but we’re steering this ship, or more accurately for tonight, flying this plane! We’d like to welcome you aboard House of Svengoolie’s “Flight 7500” with service from Los Angeles to Tokyo. Our flying time will be approximately 13 hours, but don’t worry, tonight’s film is only 2 hours. We would like to add a special welcome to our SVENBLOG members who will be earning maybe a few scary dreams for your viewing of our film with us tonight.

Then, Nostalgiaferatoo, the Imp, and Gwengoolie are back, to present a fish tale with a familiar premise- that of a prehistoric creature being released from its icy grave- this time, due to global warming! Over time, this pliosaur ( a kind of dinosaur/shark combination) matures and begins dining on vacationers at a resort in Puerta Villarta! One man who knows the score must try to convince authorities that this prehistoric beast is alive and well- and action must be taken before he uses the resort as a smorgasbord! The Sven Squad will fill you in on the cast and provide plenty of bonus entertainment as usual!

Instead of May flowers, you’ll be smelling something (or someone) else that you often find buried under May flowers. Something much more, let’s just say off-putting. Highly recommend our SVENBLOG members finish your dinner before you watch tonight’s movie because it’s not for those with a delicate or even normal stomach.

Dr. Alec Holland is just your run of the mill scientist working on bio-engineering a new animal plant hybrid in his lab which happens to be set up in a swamp. Alice Cable is the government worker, new to the swamp to replace the mysteriously disappeared previous scientist. Dr. Holland accidentally spills an experimental formula on himself and turns into a half man/half plant named… Swamp Thing! An opportunist named Arcane wants the formula and will stop at nothing to get it. Swamp Thing will do anything to protect the swamp and the lovely Alice Cable. This land is your land this land is … dino’s land?! Commander Alan Roberts is just your average US Navy commander taking his small helicopter crew on an exploratory mission into Antarctica to study oddly warm waters for the region. Pilot and geophysicist Lt. Jack Carmen is at the helm … or yoke … or whatever they use to fly a helicopter along with trusty machinist Steve Miller (the machinist one, not the musician one). Margaret Hathaway is the intrepid reporter along for the ride and hoping to get the story of her life. Ask and you shall receive Maragaret! Because your helicopter takes an unplanned trip to an unknown land right there in Antarctica that’s full of prehistoric dinosaurs, tropical plants, and a mad scientist named Hunter (not the Fred Dryer one) who hasn’t seen people in a really, really long time. Hmmm, I feel like I’ve seen this movie somewhere before … That’s because tonight’s film is a remake of George Romero’s 1968 groundbreaking horror film “Night Of The Living Dead”! Barbara and her brother are just trying to visit their deceased mother’s grave when they discover … the undead! Barbara ends up seeking shelter in a farmhouse with gentle giant Ben, a well to do family of 3, a teenage couple, and more zombies than you can shake a pitchfork at. As the living attempt to fend off the dead, they discover what brings out the worst in both. Who will make it until sunrise when hopefully the authorities can arrive? The Invisible Man Returns

Then, following that movie, the Sven Squad takes a crack at a movie I’ve shown before- “The Invisible Man Returns”! Vincent Price is an innocent man framed for murder- who turns to the brother of Griffin, the original Invisible Man and begs him to make him invisible so he can escape and prove his innocence. This 1940 film costars Cedric Hardwicke as the evil head of a mining operation who has had a deadly hand in what has transpired. The Sven Squad -Gwengoolie, the Imp and Nostalgiaferatoo- will guide you through this sequel to the original “Invisible Man”, filling you in on the production and its actors and heading in their own visible direction!

We then move on to our Sven Squad hitting the center ring with Joan Crawford as the owner and ringmistress of a travelling circus whose main attraction seems to be murder in – “Berserk!” Joan is Monica Rivers, who presides over a circus that tours Great Britain-which she co-owns with the disgruntled Dorando. The reason for his unhappiness is a tragic- and highly suspicious high wire accident- and Monica’s rather cold response to it. She feels it will pay off in publicity- and that disgusts Dorando enough to ask her to buy out his part of the show. Monica refuses and instead decides to hire a new high wire artist.

Right after that- the Sven Squad takes over with their take of a science fiction classic that I have previously shown- "This Island Earth"! This 1955 film begins with a strange green ray saving a disabled aircraft- and its pilot, atomic scientist Cal Meacham getting some electronic parts that are unbelievably advanced- and like nothing ever seen before! Then comes a mysterious set of plans to build a communication device- that picks up a message that Cal is requested to join an elite scientific group.
